                                  WINDSHIELD REPAIR RESINS

Windshield Repair Resin for Stone Breaks

Windshield repair resin that is used for the repair of stone breaks are low viscosity because the cracks within a stone break are minute and must be filled.

20cps- is the thinnest and is used for star-breaks and star- bursts.

40cps - is also used for: stars when there is a sufficient bullseyes or the glass is warm; combination breaks, bees- wings, the radiating crack and ;bullseyes.

60cps - is for round shaped breaks which is a bullseye or combination break when the glass is hot.

Primer, Point and Stone Break Resins

These two resins have multiple uses. They were  made to be primers for the long crack resin but since they are low viscosity they can also be used  in stone breaks. They are also the point resins for a short or long crack. These resins have the highest lab tests of any stone damage resin on the market. The 90 is used in the point of the crack on a warm or hot windshield. Use of Primers in a long crack is patent protected.

                                      Edge Crack Resins

These are structural adhesives that are needed to hold the stress at the edge of the windshield. The stress is from the installation and is also called induced stress. It is this stress that caused the fracture to crack and split open the crack and cause a gap. Because of the gap and stress a structural adhesive MUST be used in this area of an edge crack. The stress is 1,000 - 3,000 psi. Use of structural adhesives in a long crack is patent protected.

                                                                                LONG CRACK REPAIR RESINS

Long Crack Windshield Repair Resins were brought to the industry by Ultra Bond founder Richard Campfield in 1990. These medium and thick resins were not used prior to this which is why they were able to be patented.  These resins were first field tests for years and then passed the same federal tests required of a new windshield. This is also the only known resin to hold up in a rollover crash and not break lose, hence the name Ultra Bond. For lab and field tests on these resins go to  www.ultrabond.com.
