This product was made to remove Rain-X and other hydrophobic coatings that block windshield repair resin from the glass. It was found to not only remove Rain-X but all contaminants in a break or crack better than anything ever used to removal contaminants for windshield repair. Epoxy Primer is a primer for the point of a crack when using the Crack Epoxies. The Xtra Bond can also be used however it can take longer for the Xtra Bond to evaporate in the tapped bullseye, so it is faster to place one drop of the Epoxy Primer in the drilled hole than to evaporate the Xtra Bond, which evaporates quickly in the crack because the crack is surfaced. The tapped bullseye at the point however is unsurfaced. It is quicker and easier to use the Epoxy Primer at the point. One bottle for $9.95 will prime the point of fifty cracks.
